Seriously? It's been since April?
I can't believe how seldom I think about this blog. I usually don't use it for anything except looking for old photos or just the fun of rereading about old friends.

Life is so busy nowadays that, though there's plenty to write about, I never have the time to do it. Facebook has made it so easy to sum up my thoughts in 100 characters or less via status updates.

Kind of depressing. I mean think about it. My last year can be summed up in an awful small amount of words.

Leslie Thompson Boston: (January)

just finished shoveling snow from the side walk and porch.

so we’re up to like ten inches or something. getting tried of constant snowfall. it’d be better if it would just fall and stop, so we could plow out once and for all.

it’s STILL SNOWING!! you southern girls who want it can come get it. just load up a big truck and take all you want okay?

is surrounded by hot tea, tissue boxes (with lotion!) and Sudafed. I hate being sick!!

is feeling a little better today. Seems like it’s worse at night when you’re tired. Suppose sleep might be important? :P

has been typing recipe cards all morning… and she’s only about 1/3 done! 8-

is on the last day or so of being sick, but now her poor sweetie has gotten it too.

will never see another dentist who specializes in TMJ disorder.

has pets too!

is listening to the sound of her husband’s hammer as he builds a sewing table.

is not looking forward to doing laundry today. :P

had pizza for dinner, since her husband was craving it, for the THIRD night in a row.

The sun is always shining. Sometimes you can’t see it through the clouds but it’s still there, bright as ever.

at home today, without much on her list of things to do.

made banana bread. Now her house smells yummy.

is bored.

is killing time at the airport.

switched her switch and now she has internet again! :-D

saw Airforce One today at the Cleveland Airport! (though I expected it to look kinda cooler…?)

is going to add the Farmville application just for the sheer entertainment value of deleting it from my list of apps. :P

Thanks to Tyler, Sam, Dan & Matt for helping to carry our furniture in such cold weather! Thanks so much guys!!

thinks it’s so cold outside, even the teens at the mall must be pulling their pants up!

when you’re driving at night in the snow, do you ever pretend you’re piloting the Falcon? “Hyperdrive’s back online!”

has never been this excited about washing dishes! But she’s happy to have her own cabinet to store her pretty china, from the large elegant platter and the shiny crystal glasses down to the fat little sugar bowl.

is psyched that Joann’s decorator fabrics are still on sale for 50% off! and she’s got a 10% off coupon too!

“The publican’s nemesis is not the Pharisee beside him who condemns him, but the Pharisee within him that exalts him in his own eyes.” – Keven Brownfield

just finished the second movie of the evening, and her sweetie is still wrapping up homework. These late nights are getting to be habitual.

misses ice skating on the river.

(February)

HAPPY GROUNDHOGGIES DAY TO THE WORLD!!! (especially those who actually know Phil, the famous groundhog living in Punxy, PA)

wonders why they call it H1N1? maybe it’s related to R2D2?

nearly locked herself out of the house, and practically froze to death without shoes! (I find though, that if you pulled hard enough, all doors open to you.)

just finished season eight of SG-1. And now she is sad.

is sending complaints to facebook.

is watching the snow fall somewhat too quickly to not make her suspect freezing rain.

is tired and wants a nap.

is watching her honey shovel a mountain of snow! I think we need a bigger shovel that we could just push down the driveway and out to the street. while it seems pointless to wish for a snowplow, maybe then our street would be cleared.

loves the neighbor’s snowman! So awesome!

is finished cleaning up after the party last night. Can’t believe how many people showed up! 30 I think was the most at one time.

is looking forward to a movie date with Becky!

is hooked on amigurumi (no pun intended).

realized today that it was the first time she’d gone to a movie theater without a family member or Jon (and yes, Jon is family now, but he wasn’t always.)

just finished making chocolate covered strawberries and now she’s attacking the leftovers!! :D

has a clean freezer.

was sorely disappointed at the 3D movie last night. They don’t give out red and blue paper glasses anymore! The movie was good, but I really wanted to wear the red and blue. How sad!

wishes Facebook would stop making unnecessary changes that drive you up the wall and change things that really need sorting out!!!

wants out of the house!

so Jon says to me yesterday that he wants to put shelves in the closet downstairs. X-D

has a pretty dress to wear to the Fusion dinner! :D and she’s excited that she made it fit!!!!

is munching on candy hearts.

has random tasks at hand today. A little crossstitch, a little crocheting, a lot of laundry, a lot of cleaning. Jon calls them noble tasks. I’m not sure where he’s getting that, but okay.

ice skating

cleaning. :-P

house is half-clean! (yes, that is good)

is supervising the hanging of pictures on the walls.

is receiving guests into a freshly cleaned place. *happiness*

thanks her friends for cleaning up their own starburst wrappers last night.

is happy with how membership class went tonight.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It’ll take the edge off your appetite and you’ll eat less.

just looked at a weather map and realized how close we are to the Indy border. Wow.

is working on various projects. Wishing any one of them would show some progress.

is making oatmeal scotchies!!!

hates when a recipe says “Yield 4 dozen” and you really have to make a double-batch to get 47 cookies. They must not mean normal sized cookies.

Yesterday (Feb 24th) was National Inconvenience Yourself Day. Just glad I missed it.

is using craigslist to sell something for the first time. (It’s kinda cool how easy it is.)

has her kitchen curtain fabric!! Look out Martha Stewart!

had fun at girls’ night tonight. Courtney & Heather keep me laughing! Lauren & Becky only add to the craziness. :D

is making biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

is a little bit bored. And not really sure what to do about it. :-\

(March)

does not like the tornado siren. It’s like right across the street from our house. >:

is confused sometimes. :\

is headed to a babysitting stint. Should be fun, but ask me again in a few hours. :D

found a friend at Chick-fil-A and brought her home to pick apart a blanket.

could really use a magic ‘all better’ pill right about now.

is feeling loads better today.

is very proud of her very smart husband. <3

just turned off a very boring movie and is looking for something more entertaining…

The fabric of my universe has been shattered. I am disappointed. I thought all my friends were just faster typers. Now I realize that Scramble “personal best” scores are affected by the time duration of the rounds.

is off treasurehunting!!! :D

is very much in love. <3

just finished a morning of babysitting at church, then grocery shopping and cleaning the kitchen. Now to go get the mail…

is home again, after driving to church at 6:00 for a choir practice that doesn’t start till seven. Either I was mistaken, or misinformed. :\

is going to hem her dress for Saturday night and then paint walls.

is motivated by spring weather!

is waiting for her sweetie…

is researching GPS handhelds.

walking hand in hand with the love of my life on an evening stroll through the neighborhood.

This is not the status you’re looking for.

is quite ready for some down time.

is up.

is eating Lucky Charms for breakfast.

is very tired after her night as Cinderella.

Unfortunately, with DST the next day, midnight came sooner than it should have. :P
took a nice nap today while honey was playing ultimate in the cold, wet weather. (Somehow, I think I did the smart thing.)

is tired. All those bottles of Coke… sale… zzzz…

painted.

is back from babysitting. Those kids are all so good together!

is a domestic diva. :D I’m so proud of myself!

is watching her ebay seconds tick away time in real time…18m 33s… 32s… 31s…

wishes she knew how to reload the staple gun.

Life is now. Don’t wait for things to come, happen or get better before you realize that this is life. This is what it’s about, making things better, making them happen.

is making chocolate chip cookies! Yum yum yum!

can hear the buzz/whir of her husband’s mower as he enjoys making improvements to his lawn.

thinks it’s insane that they’re considering a non-US citizen for the role of Captain America! Are they crazy? It’d be just so wrong!

has to go clean the bathrooms before she can play. :P

joined the Dark Side. They have cookies. Unfortunately, the Light Side has the milk.

is listening to a bunch of guys talk about guns. :-6

awaits the dryer. loves that quirky smile of his. :]

is waiting for Castle. Going to be a great day. Made it out of the shower without drowning.

awaits.

has wet hair.

received a dozen beautiful red roses today!

is sick of reading depressing opinions on the healthcare bill instead of status updates.

just scalded her hand with boiling water.

can’t believe Castle tonight! drinks tea while deciding what to do with her day.

(April)

has the nastiest cough. >:( it makes me so mad!

has been out enjoying the sun this morning!

has flour all over her keyboard because she uses her laptop as a recipe book.

just finished *the* most adorable little zipper-back hoodie I have ever seen! It’s so cute! Too bad it doesn’t fit anyone in this household. :P

is sitting on the porch watching as Jon mows the lawn.

is glad she came inside when she did for now it has started to rain.

will apparently have to be much more devious and crafty at hiding an easter basket next year. He went to way too much effort looking before finding it in an incredibly obvious fireplace.

still has an aversion to eating the eyes off the Peeps, ever since Brandon told me they were indestructible. :P

is babysitting today! Yay!

really wants to stop referring to herself in the third person but Facebook make it almost grammatically impossible.

I’m going to create a computer virus that will sneak onto your farm and tip all your cows. *evil grin*

is teaching Lauren how to crochet.

likes to play Scrabble.

was told last night that she looked like a fairy princess…

just woke up! and she’s got to babysit in like, five minutes!! 8-

found six geocaches and a turtle shell last night with Dina-rae. She says there’s a turtle running around naked somewhere. ;)

is waiting, waiting, waiting.

just heard the dryer buzzing at her. Off I go!

wants a nap.

gots hurting ears.

is awake again… *yawn*… now where’s that Jon?

loves getting free stuff! :D

covered a rocking chair yesterday, and is making matching curtains today.

didn’t end up doing curtains yet, but made a cute little yellow snuggy for a winter baby!

hates FB’s constant suggestion to reconnect with people she sees on a regular basis. It’s like, insulting our friendships.

keeps smelling random foods that are nowhere to be found. Weird.

does not WANT to do laundry!

concocts pretzel salad.

(May)

doesn’t feel sick for the first morning in over a week.

still feeling okay. Not sure what prompted the change of a sudden, but very happy to be getting things done today.

is bored with facebook.

thinks her sweetie must’ve stopped somewhere on the way home…

has been caching in on the fires of frustration with Jon.

is off to aply for a passport. Maybe someday I’ll get to use it!

passport in progress. Wondering… do babies need passports too?

can hear the loudspeaker from the nearby school field day. Got a feeling it’ll be this way all day. :P

is going golfing!

is researching things…

is having a good day, regardless of the baby throwup. :P

(June)

has less carpet now than she did an hour ago.

is sipping tea for the first time in two months and finding the taste less than alluring.

PHANTOM WAS AWESOME!!!

wants a real Philly cheesesteak…

--burn the land and boil the sea, you can’t take the sky from me…

is psyched. She found a 65-gallon fish tank w/stand at a yard sale down the street.

should probably be eating something besides chocolate caramels right now.

is back to crocheting blankets.

can hear the distant sound of records playing in the basement.

is psyched that Netflix finally has Castle’s season one!

needs a new prof pic… hmm…

menah menah.

just cleaned up the bathrooms, and hopes she can sparkle up the kitchen in the next 45 minutes… oh wait, 44 minutes.

can’t wait to visit Shriver’s!!!

bought condensed milk instead of evaporated. Now she’s gotta make fudge. Oh darn.

Keeps reading updates about her friends at the shore… and wants to be there too!!!

has the fireworks, the watermelon, the water balloons, the marshmallow shooters, the corn-on-the-cob, the cake supplies, and the hamburgers,… what’s left?...

facebook is boring again (and we know what that means don’t we, Shaun?)

(July)

has too much to do!!!

has awesome new water shoes and is now ready for the shore!!!

feels like going back to bed is not a bad idea.

just suffocated (again) under the enormous list of clothes, furniture, travel gear, safety, bath and feeding items that babies need.

is watching Jon try on his new cleats.

had a couple bags of unopened marshymallows leftover from Sunday… looks like Krispie treats are in my future.

doesn’t want to be awake…

honey is home!!! :D

is loving this rainstorm!

anybody remember the smell of the basement at the DTC? I totally was reminded of that at the hospital today. smelled all wet from the rain.

just got steven curtis chapman’s all about love CD in the mail today. happy surprise.

wish I had my iPod now instead of waiting till August… but I guess since it’s essentially free, I shouldn’t pout.

is happy that at least Jon’s iPod will be available to use on the trip to Jersey.

it’s 9:30 at night. my sweetie’s leaving tomorrow. and I keep getting junk texts from lord knows who.

Ahh!!

there’s so much to do…

is waiting for a man…

is sad that most maternity dresses are so short they’re more like shirts. :’(

just opened a nasty package of onion Ritz crackers. Now I’m all disappointed cause we don’t have the normal kind around.

is Team Jon. ([un?]fortunately, this team has a size limit of one member, so you vampire girls can stick with your freaky guys.)

am bored.

is bummed that the Blue Angels are doing their airshow the one week I’m not going to be here. :P

can I sue WPAFB if their loud planes that fly over my house and rattle my china cabinet, actually break the china? Isn’t there somebody who’s responsible for that?

is on top of things enough to take a facebook break.

can’t believe 7 million people “like” Justin Bieber. I didn’t know there were that many 14-yr-old girls on facebook!

is making krispie treats… again.

is enjoying vacation. Got to see the whole family, eat Sunny Slope peaches and play golf on the boardwalk… and it’s only Tuesday.

is trying to recouperate from the last three days before the next three days.

had loads of fun yesterday on the boardwalk with Derek & Manda Davis, and Rob & Amanda Cook.

is eating at Bob Evans.

is disappointed that people can be so prejudiced, especially among Christians when we’re supposed to be setting an example of love.

is listening to the sound of pinging jam jars.

has had no success in the baby’s room today. :P

happily, is back to drinking tea like normal.

is sorting through baby clothes that Jessica and Mrs. Dillon passed along.

*loves* Freecycle.

gots a comfy new chair.

fish & chips—it’s what’s for dinner!

has to iron shirts, finish laundry and clean the sewing room. Somebody has frowny face.

forewent the cleaning of the sewing room, and made a cheesecake instead. :P

(August)

facebook offers me no entertainment today.

felt inspired to paint her toenails pink.

shall attempt blueberry jam this time!

well the power’s out…

has a nasty old dentist appointment today.

anethesiamakesmesleepy……………

has the best husband in the world, but respectfully feels appropriate compassion for the rest of the wives whose fellas thus land in second place.

went to a princess party last night. now for canoeing today!!

it’s cool that I can be washing clothes, drying clothes, washing dishes and sipping tea all at the same time. can’t imagine being amish.

Comic Sans is the Justin Bieber of the font world. Everyone hates it, but for some reason it’s still popular.

keeps getting kicked in the stomach. >:-0

visited with Lauren at Kroger again.

is watching someone turn around in her driveway… how weird.

off we go… into the wild blue *oh wait, we’re driving. nevermind.*

stop changing your profile picture so much! it’s not socks!

Day 1 of 10: randomly decided to chronicle the next ten days. So far, so good.

Day 3 of 10: remembered that I forgot about day 2.

just got Baby101 and is about to revamp the registry.

heading to pick up furniture tonight!

Day 4 of 10: have baby furniture and reincarnation of that chronic sore throat that I always get.

Day 5 of 10: had really good discussion last night in bible study; expecting good day today.

Look at your status… Now back to mine… Now back to yours… Now back to mine. Sadly, your status isn’t mine. But if you stopped posting about other things and made this your status, yours could be mine. Look down, now back up. Where are you? You’re on Facebook… reading the status that your status could be like.

Day 6 of 10: still battling the seeming endless army of houseflies. getting better at hand-to-hand. methods of mass destruction still elude me.

Day 7 of 10: up at an ungodly hour for no good reason; teaching crochet lesson at ten; renewing ID this pm. Get to start the weekend early when Jon gets off at noon! *whee*

Day 8 of 10: got a dimmer switch for the baby’s room, a light in the library, and the most scrumptious smelling venison stew simmering on the stove! *thank you Robert* XD

Day 9 of 10: had the most ridiculously side-splitting evening last night with the group. (Please Chris, never, ever, ever do that again.) Planning on lots of laundry-doing today. (not as cool.)

Day 10 of 10: met my sweetheart for a picnicky lunch, making chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal scotchies before bible study tonight.

just learned a new word: synecdoche. Look it up! Better yet, pronounce it right the first time. ;)

can’t find her phone. somebody call it please!

dining room curtains are finally up!

has gained six pounds.

has stuff to do but doesn’t like any of her prospects.

(September)

8-D

is sleepy… perhaps from loss of blood…? …zzzzzzzzzzz…

did not get a Starbucks mug from Vienna (can you believe they don’t have Starbucks?), but instead has one from the equally cool location: Prague. XD

had great fun last night, and discovered that Settlers of Catan is not the nerdy boring game I thought it was. ;P

is sore from the neck down. (ow!)

gorgeous, gorgeous weather…

is having a very productive day.

has a bouncy ball. I’ve always wanted one, and after monopolizing Dan’s last night, figured I should just buy one.

has to iron today.

for a fun way to waste time today, check out the google homepage. (not iGoogle)

wishes it was 5:14pm instead of 4:14pm.

is listening to her windchimes tingle out the key of C with every breeze.

It recently became apparent to me that the letters T and G are far too close together on a keyboard. This is why I’ll never be ending an email with the phrase “Regards” again.

Top Tip of the Week: When going through airport customs and you are asked “do you have any firearms with you?” do not reply “what do you need?”

is psyched! Got a new Starbucks mug from Detroit!

is sleepy after a long, busy day. Had great fun seeing everyone at the baby shower though. Kudos to grandmoms-to-be for all their hard work!

My mean, lazy husband spent the whole weekend I was gone doing nothing except painting the kitchen, washing windows, fixing the hallway floor and mopping the dining room. Can you believe it?? And he expects me to get the dusting done all today! :P

hungers.

reminds us that two wrongs don’t make a right, but three rights make a left, and two Wrights made an airplane.

is stitching together a baby sweater.

is thinking she needs to host a yard sale… anyone want to partner up this weekend?

is heading to the Mom of Twins sale today. Even though it’s quite early…

yard sale plans are actually coming together. cool.

83 more days of kicking baby… give or take.

just heard the PS3 boot up.

is going to suck it up and hem that last curtain today.

feels really warm. Thinking pregnancy has it’s perks.

had a fun date at B&N with Jon tonight.

pretending to get stuffs done…

had a good first yard sale day. Now if I can just get rid of the rest of the stuff…

(October)

sits in front of her house with a cup of cocoa waiting for her junk to disappear.

is smelling fresh-baked banana bread, vanilla coffee, and a fire in the library. Very yummy on a cold fall day.

and the peach cobbler is now in the oven, ready to be married to vanilla ice cream when Amber gets here.

Dan Gallagher: “Home is where your story begins”? What happens when you move?
Me: Well we didn’t start our story here anyway. This is the second place we’ve lived.
Dan: *gasp* So are you saying this isn’t home?
Me: No…
Sam Moody: It’s a trilogy.
*I’m still loving that comment!*

wow. I’m already almost 30 weeks. only 10 to go? huh. December seems further away.

almost ready for vacation!

is back with two more mugs from Tampa and Orlando.

is catching up.

is turning 27 tomorrow, but doesn’t really believe it. I keep doing the math, but it just doesn’t feel right.

had a cool birthday. thanks everyone who remembered.

is uploading long overdue photos.

just spent the entire morning online researching political candidates. 8-P I wish they would just mail out something that says where everybody stands on everything. Life would be easier.

is listening to her ipod and making Jon’s favorite cookies.

can’t figure out what’s wrong with the heater. :\

so the floor people were supposed to call yesterday and tell us what time they are coming today, but no phone call yet. Guess we’re going to SS without them.

had way fun with Mafia last night. But doesn’t like being mafia. I always feel so GUILTY for lying and getting away with murder. *shakes head sadly*

can’t seem to get the hat size right for her costume. >:-

has lots to do today.

just put on some cleaning music.

is good to go.

(November)

busy this week. get back to me later.

is finally done all her tasks for the day. Except dinner. and ironing. and some sewing…

is fairly satisfied with the outcome of the elections.

enjoyed spending time with some of her family this weekend, as well as a great shower by Amy and Lauren.

Christmas has thrown up on the neighbor’s house already. *goes out and shoots self*

has carseat, highchair, and baby bottles. Now for baby…

likes LEGO rock band. it’s much funner than guitar hero.

has an oven with a ‘stop time’ button. It’s probably meant to be ‘stop timer’ but I don’t touch it, just in case.

went for a walk through the neighborhood with Jon on what is probably the last nice afternoon we’ll have till spring.

cooking up a hurricane this week!

taking the day off. I’m tired of cooking. :P

was instructed by the doctor to “veg” this weekend… so now I’m bored.

had way fun with the girls last night! Been a while since I’ve done something with them.

making fresh banana bread to share tonight! *inhales*

is making spaghetti pizza!

(December)

snow is flurrying! but sadly it does not want to stay.

... okay so maybe not so few words as I thought. But still, you have to admit, it's a lot easier to read a whole year of stuff via Facebook statuses than blog posts.

I begin to be exasperrated by the so-called "professionals" who rate this "based on" the "public opinion." I read an article on the "top-rated" Pixar film and disagreed so much, I had to know if the public really thinks like them, or like me. (I mean, I'm part of the viewing public, right?)

So here it is, the question...

It's That Kind of Day
I've been enjoying some majorly amazing weather this week. Jon and I wake up hearing the same birds we have been all winter (since none have migrated back yet), but they all are using their spring voices, flirting with each other in the early morning treetops. The mourning doves were cooing at me this morning on my way to the garage.

It was great to go outside without a coat, just long sleeves. The sun is painting the clouds white on top, while beneath they retain they're bluish hue from the recent rain. Little girls are rolling skating in the road, and their laughter and teasing drifts through the open windows on a breeze that caresses the light curtains in the living room.

It's the kind of day that's still kind of cold, but you don't want to close the sash. You'd rather put on a jacket and warm socks and feel your nose turn red from the chill as the sun goes down.

It's the kind of day that gets you thinking about buying hamburgers and hot dogs for a barbeque next weekend, and makes you pray the weather will hold that long.

It's the kind of day that everyone loves. The kind of day that says spring is just around the corner.

Cross your fingers---it may be right. :)

Billboards
I've decided that my blog-life as become like a billboard. Like how you're driving past and only subconciously notice them, to have them disappear from memory until you pass that way again.

Drive-by blog posts. That's me.

Well anway it doesn't matter. I only post when I want to and I don't think anyone really reads the blog anymore to notice my billboards when I do put them up. :)

Wow so hmm,...
Looks like I've been neglecting to update my blog for many a moon. Oh well. Anybody who knows me knows why.

I've been busy. I met a guy, you know? and you know how monopolizing that can be of one's time. But I married him, so what can you expect?

So since I married, I also changed name, location, and job titles. I think I like being "wife" to being "accountant" any day. :D

But I probably won't be any better about blogging. Facebook has conquered the cyberworld, and frankly, I'm none too put out about it. Honestly, is there anyone who doesn't have it?

THEY'RE KILLING ME!!!
Can we get any "less uneducated"??

Check out this audio clip from the Howard Stern show. The interviewers surveyed people on the streets of Harlem about their support for Obama, attributing all of McCain's policies to Obama.

And no one even noticed!!!

Proud to be Part of Our Team
The following photo links were sent to me by the manager where I work, exemplifying the newly implemented safety gear and equipment for the laborers. They show off a number of innovative efforts by associations, labor groups, and contractors, doing just what the experts recommend: identifying hazards and developing focused solutions that prevent injuries, and boost the desirability of construction employment. It fills me with confidence to know that our employer shows genuine concern for the physical safety of his company workers.

Truly our society is moving forward in the field of safety innovation.

Sometimes the delivery drivers park a little far from the loading dock and our guys have had to stretch precariously across the divide. This piece of equipment is designed to bridge the gap without endangering the men to a fall.

In response to a recent accident involving a fallen garage door, several safety helmets were purchased to protect the warehouse workers.

Rather than the clumsy, old-fashioned goggles widely in use at this time, our workers have the advantage of full face protection when sawing through the hoses with a metal helix.

One piece of safety gear that we considered, but unfortunately have no use for, is the welding mask. I was personally impressed with the use of fire resistant material, combined with the extra eye protection.

Doesn’t it make you proud of where you work? :)

The power went out at work today.

I happened to be at the counter by the front door, so I could still see. But I knew that in the warehouse there’s no light. As soon as it went out, I could hear “Ohhh!” all over the building. :)

…then “Junior!!”

… “What?! The power goes out and it’s my fault??”

For about a minute, you could hear the conversation being yelled back and forth across the warehouse.

I’ve never been anywhere but the office when the power’s failed before. ‘Twas a new experience.
